8 Days From Marrakech To Marrakech
- Tour Overview
The traditional domain of the indigenous Amazigh (Berber) people, Morocco has a rich history influenced by extensive migrations and urban settlements. Once controlled by Carthage and later a province of the Roman Empire, it became known as the Maghrib after the Arab conquest in the late 7th century. The Almoravid dynasty in the 11th century marked the rise of a native Amazigh empire spanning from Andalusian Spain to parts of sub-Saharan Africa. Despite European attempts to colonize Morocco from the late 15th century, it remained independent until becoming a French protectorate in 1912, regaining independence in 1956. Today, Morocco is the only monarchy in North Africa.
