Day 1: Casablanca - Arrival and Reception
Upon arrival in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in the city. Explore the vibrant streets of Casablanca, including a guided tour of the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world outside of Mecca.
Day 2:Casablanca – Rabat – Fes
Following breakfast, the group will depart via van bound for Fes. En route, there will be a stop at Rabat, the seat of the monarchy and capital city, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy lunch and take in the scenic coastal surroundings. Following lunch, an optional excursion to Volubilis awaits, offering a glimpse into the ancient ruins dating back 2000 years and providing insights into life during the Roman Empire era. The journey will then proceed to Fes, revered as the spiritual heart of Morocco.
Day 3: Fes - Exploring the Medina with a Guided Tour
Following breakfast, you’ll commence our guided exploration of the Fes medina, renowned as one of the globe’s most expansive walled cities. Delve into the labyrinthine streets adorned with vibrant displays of fresh produce, aromatic heaps of spices, exquisitely crafted Berber rugs, and a myriad of other artistic treasures synonymous with Morocco. Your itinerary includes stops at significant sites such as the King’s Palace, the tanneries, and pottery workshops, offering immersive cultural experiences. Midday, you have the option to dine at a traditional eatery nestled within the medina’s bustling heart. Following lunch, the journey resumes, with a return to your riad to conclude the evening’s activities.
Day 4: Fes to Erfoud via the Atlas Mountains
Following breakfast, your journey through the medina commences, an expansive walled city renowned globally for its size. Delve into the labyrinthine alleyways adorned with vibrant displays of fresh produce, heaps of aromatic spices, finely crafted Berber rugs, and myriad other Moroccan artisanal treasures. Highlights of the tour include visits to the Kings Palace, the tanneries, and pottery workshops, offering insights into local craftsmanship. A traditional lunch awaits at a quaint restaurant nestled within the bustling heart of the medina. Post-lunch, the exploration continues until concluding the tour, whereupon you’ll retreat to your hotel for the evening.
Day 5: Exploring the Sahara Desert and Its Surroundings
The majority of the day will be dedicated to unwinding at the hotel or discovering the charming desert town. Later in the day, you’ll venture out in sturdy 4-wheel drive vehicles across the vast desert terrain towards the awe-inspiring Sahara dunes. From there, you’ll embark on a 2-hour camel trek to reach the oasis, where you’ll overnight in traditional Berber tents (Dinner is provided). Alternatively, returning to the hotel for the night is also an option if preferred.
Day 6: Merzouga to Todra Oasis, Tinehr, and Dades Valley
In the vast expanse known as the “sand sea” of Merzouga, one finds themselves amidst a stunning landscape of finely textured, apricot-colored sand that seems to stretch endlessly into the distance. Following breakfast, the journey leads back to Erfoud. Departing from Erfoud, you travel alongside the imposing High Atlas Mountains towards the Todra Gorges, which stand as the loftiest oasis in Morocco, with walls towering up to 3 meters high. Lunch is enjoyed by the gorge, allowing time to marvel at this natural water reservoir. The journey then proceeds towards yet another remarkable gorge, Dades, passing by the peculiar rock formations of Tamnalt Hills. The night is spent nestled within the Dades Gorge, surrounded by its captivating red and mauve-hued rock formations.
Day 7: Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou and Marrakesh
In the morning, delight in the breathtaking vistas of the Dades Gorge, sculpted over centuries by the meandering Dades River. Marvel at the vivid hues of the towering red and mauve cliffs that line the roadside. Following our exploration, we’ll traverse through the renowned Rose Valley, famed for its abundant rose cultivation. On the final day of your journey, your morning will commence with a hearty breakfast, allowing you to relish in the flavors of Morocco one last time. Following this, arrangements will be made for your smooth transfer to either Marrakech or Casablanca Airport, depending on your departure destination. Our dedicated team will ensure that your departure is hassle-free, providing assistance with luggage and ensuring you reach the airport in a timely manner.
